Phi Theodoros (she/her) is an award winning cabaret entertainer, community artist, event host and facilitator.
She is celebrated for her ability to harness the transformative power of creativity to foster connection and dialogue. With a lifelong love of the arts, she has explored creative writing, music, theatre, digital storytelling, and community arts.

Currently based on Kaurna Land in South Australia, she has performed in multiple arts festivals across the state, developed and performed in online creative festivals and facilitated at community development, youth empowerment and education conferences across Australia.

Since her teens, Phi has been curious about the intersection of creativity, community, and wellbeing. At the heart of her practice is an inclusive, trauma-informed approach that invites everyone to share their stories through creativity. She is passionate about stimulating conversations around the importance of storytelling and human connection.

Powered by a vision to help others learn and grow, Phi began coordinating youth arts and community events in the early 2000s. In 2014 she became a Resident Artist at Life Without Barriers, working with vulnerable young people in their Living Arts Program. Fostering connection, growth and dialogue through inclusive, trauma-informed creative practices. In 2025 this team were awarded "The Voice of The Child and Young Person" Award at the Department of Child Protection Awards for their innovative and client centred approaches.

In 2019 these worlds collided with her cabaret persona the "Ukulele Dream Girl" hitting the stage. With her ukulele in hand and a heart brimming with compassion, Phi invites you to join her on an unforgettable journey of exploration and discovery

Her stage persona, the Ukulele Dream Girl, first took to the stage in 2019 captivating audiences with her unique blend of music, poetry, and storytelling.

Through her performances, Phi aims to challenge social stigmas and ignite meaningful conversations. With her ukulele in hand and a heart brimming with compassion, she invites you to join her on an unforgettable journey of self-exploration and discovery.

The Ukulele Dream Girl has performed full length cabaret shows, variety show acts and MC'd events ranging from community fundraisers, exhibition launches, birthdays and weddings.

Creative workshops, special projects & community events

Phi is passionate about storytelling and connection, especially supporting vulnerable community members to share stories that matter to them who may otherwise be left unheard. She is a multi-skilled artist across the performing arts, digital storytelling

She works as the Lead Resident Artist in Life Without Barriers Award Winning Living Arts Program. Here she collaboratively designs and delivers trauma-informed creative experiences, exhibitions and projects. She regularly works with for young people with a care experience, people living with mental health challenges and/or with a disability. She has developed or supported community events such as the Imaginate Youth Arts Festival in Mt Barker (presented by Ink Pot Arts), Reconciliation in the West, and The Festival of Now.

Through her work at Life Without Barriers, with Ink Pot Arts and freelance work she has presented creative activities, workshops, exhibitions, variety shows at countless events and festivals in the past 15 years with a focus on bringing people together to try something new. These include exhibitions and installations featuring works by people with lived experience of mental health challenges and out of home care experiences during the SALA and Adelaide Fringe Festivals alongside coordinating installations and roving entertainment for the Groovin the Moo Festival.

Wellbeing & Inclusion
Training, advocacy & support

Captivated by the performing arts since childhood, Phi always wanted to be on the stage sharing stories and connecting with her audiences. She grew up watching her parents, both educators and creatives in their own rights, touring live music with band Cotters Bequest to folk festivals and venues across South Australia and Victoria.

Phi is a well-known entertainer across the Adelaide Festival Scene having performing in the Adelaide Fringe since 2006 and has produced and presented shows and more in the Feast Festival, Cabaret Fringe Festival and the Umbrella Festival. She also loves to bring cabaret to unexpected venues such as cafe's and restaurants on Granite Island and Port Lincoln, as well as support creative arts in regional areas.

As well as her extensive performing credits as an actor and musical entertainer, Phi has also hosted events as an MC and provided mentoring support for emerging and established artists.

As a queer, neurodivergent, second generation Greek-Australian, Phi brings an intersectional-feminist lens to all the work she does. She is passionate about supporting people through a culturally-responsive, neuro-affirming and trauma-thoughtful approach and would love to support you to do the same.

She has curated workshops, supported youth leadership programs and presented at conferences including the CREATE Foundations Voices in Action Conference, "At the Edge" Global Community Development Conference and the Doing School Differently Conference.

Currently undertaking a Masters in Counselling, Phi is passionate about helping others to learn ways to grow through what they go through. She is eager to support others to find their way towards wellbeing through kindness, compassion and creativity. Phi believes the combination of psycho-education and understanding the stories the world has told us, can help us to write the stories we truly want to live.

In 2022 Phi completed the Equality Project's LGBTQIA+ Leadership Program, opening her eyes to new possibilities through advocacy and strengthening communities through personal and professional development.

Though her work on the Pride Without Barriers Committee, Phi has developed workshops to support LGBTQIA+ inclusion for staff and clients in the community sector. She leads the "Queer Conversations" video series, sharing LGBTQIA stories in accessible yarns around key dates or challenges faced by the community.

Phi is a proud Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer for Life Without Barriers. Teaching this evidence based framework to foster carers, residential care workers, mentors, social workers and more to bring a holistic lens to providing care through a trauma-informed lens through relationships.
